Located closer to where the City’s growth is taking place, this building serves as the City of Derby’s main fire and administration station. Situated near a school and residential neighborhood, TESSERE designed a traditional brick and stone station to blend in with the area. We also designed a large park area complete with a sculpture honoring firefighters.
Project Details
TESSERE provided design services for the new 23,163-square-foot fire station. The station provides administrative offices for the fire chief, firefighters, fire marshal and deputy chief. Additional spaces include a training room, conference room, restrooms, day room, fitness room, locker rooms, a kitchen and nine bunks for firefighters. The four apparatus bays are designed without columns to provide flexibility in parking four to eight fire trucks and room for firemen to maneuver.
